If only…
Another one of our favorite things to do is spend a day, or even just a few hours, with our toes in the sand. Nothing like the ocean to wash away concerns and bring some ease to our thoughts. Our beaches have been closed for about two weeks. A scenic drive down to the keys is off limits, as roads are only open to residents. The weather has been beyond perfect for both, but staying home makes the most sense right now.
So that’s what we are doing. Thank the universe there are a million little projects around the house that there is never time for. Hopefully the motivation keeps up with getting them done. The budget for those is shot.
Isn’t it funny that when you have the money, you lack the time. Whether it’s time off or flexibility from work to accomplish them, or you simply make the choice to take on the funner things – like random trips to the keys or days at the beach – when you do find a little time. Then, when time is actually on your side, the funds need to be preserved for the months ahead. Sure, I can live off my credit cards [as so many choose to do], however I don’t want to come out on the other side of this in a huge financial hole as it seems the economy will be in the crapper for some time. I’ll make my list and tackle the things I can in the meantime. The others will have to wait. Just as we are all waiting to see how this hot mess turns out.
I spoke with my goddaughter today and she and her hubby decided to go on an adventure. They got in the car, drove to one of our favorite rib places in Naples, ate their takeout in their cars and came right back home. LOVE that they are spontaneous enough to go on the adventure. Let’s see if I can talk my boys into our own outing soon.
Any favorite adventures I should add to my list for when this mess is over?
